Holiday focus Spain

A family-run Trail Riding Farm located between Busquistar and Trevelez in the heart of the Alpujarra, Sierra Nevada.

“You find yourself climbing a steep ancient trail on a forward going, sure footed Spanish horse through colorful brush and oak forests opening up to meadows scented with Spanish broom, thyme and sage. and as you reach the crest of the trail you look back and your breath is taken away by the wonderful views of the Sierra Nevada with Morocco in the distance. Your first thought is that you never thought this possible by you or your horse. You stop to take this all in, feeling the crisp clean mountain air and after a short decent you come to a pond and awaiting you is a wonderful Mediterranean picnic with local wines and delicious food."

Two hours later everybody is ready to continue the Camino Verde horse riding adventure on the upcoming cantering track. Meandering trails and breathtaking views lead you to a white washed village where your hotel awaits you with a drink of your choice. Refreshed from the pool and the shower, the group gathers for a delicious 3 course dinner accompanied by local wine. A flamenco performance in the upstairs bar room of this traditional Hotel concludes this day.

Lessons for beginner and intermediate riders are held in the large arena and round-pen she built after getting a positive response from the local residents. Now more than 20 regular students of all ages, healthy animals, a large number of return clients for trekking and trail horse riding holidays plus a guest book full of positive entries prove they are on the right way to become “The Special and Different Riding Place” in the Alpujarra!
