Jubrique street - Return to Listing
Jubrique street
A typical street in Jubrique, headquarters of Benamonarda and one of the 'white villages' of the Serranía de Ronda. Jubrique is one of the fifteen agricultural villages of the Genal Valley, and has some 800 inhabitants. Its urban layout betrays its Moorish past, with a maze of narrow streets lined with small whitewashed houses with tiny windows, red tile roofs and chimneys of a variety of curious shapes. Many of Benamonarda's holiday programmes take place wholly or partly with accommodation in Jubrique, where you can stay with village families or in a furnished house. 'Genal Valley', 'Natural Parks of the Serranía', 'Nature Rambles—Serranía de Ronda', 'At Home in the Genal Valley' and 'Spanish/Cooking/Crafts/Sevillanas dance courses' are based entirely in Jubrique; 'Self-guided walking in the Genal' in Jubrique and two of the other villages. The Natural Parks of western Andalusia are also covered by our 'Pata Negra' holiday: the Atlantic coast (Estrecho, Barbate and Bay of Cadiz Natural Parks), Cadiz and Seville cities, the Sierra Norte de Sevilla N.P. and the Sierra de Aracena N.P.
